description La biodiversidad con la que cuenta Colombia, le permite realizar un uso sostenible de sus recursos, sin embargo, existen productos poco explotados pese al potencial que se tiene para su venta tanto en el mercado doméstico como en los mercados internacionales. Este es el caso de la miel, razón por la cual el problema de investigación del presente trabajo se enfoca en la búsqueda de las estrategias e implementación de estrategias que el país puede implementar para optimizar su posicionamiento. Para su desarrollo, se empleó una metodología descriptiva con base en fuentes secundarias, mediante las cuales se identificaron los principales productores de la miel en el mundo y las estrategias empleadas por estos. La investigación se sustenta en la teoría de la disponibilidad de los recursos y como principales resultados se encuentra un diagnóstico de las condiciones actuales de la producción apícola y como se pueden transformar con eficiencia sus métodos de trabajo para lograr estar dentro de los lideres exportadores de miel en el mundo.
