description Mediante el desarrollo de esta investigación se analizó si el clúster azucarero en Colombia es lo suficiente sólido y competitivo, de tal manera que pueda consolidarse en diferentes mercados internacionales, además de identificar posibles oportunidades que este podría aprovechar. Para alcanzar los objetivos establecidos se realizó una breve investigación acerca de la estructura del clúster, así como también se determinó el nivel de competitividad de este en el sector, se analizaron variables de tipo meso, macro y meta que pueden influir en el funcionamiento competitivo del mismo a nivel nacional e internacional. Se complementó esta investigación con el análisis del avance y alcance que ha logrado el clúster del azúcar después de la crisis mundial del 2008, a través del estudio estadístico de las exportaciones. La investigación arrojo como resultado que el clúster azucarero durante los últimos años se ha fortalecido y consolidado con ayuda de las instituciones que intervienen, las cuales aportan al desarrollo de tecnología, proyectos, sostenibilidad ambiental y sostenibilidad del negocio con el tiempo, que contribuye a mejorar la productividad y eficiencia de las empresas que lo conforman impulsando el avance y alcance de la cadena en el mercado internacional, teniendo en cuenta que después de la crisis del año 2008 las exportaciones aumentaron reflejando el fortalecimiento del clúster.
