Trae esas ideas y conceptos a colación al preguntarse ¿existen todavía esos principios en el Estado norteamericano o será que la maravillosa mesa redonda de Arturo ha desaparecido? Para comenzar a resolver esta pregunta, la cual será tema de desarrollo durante todo el texto, el autor utiliza una de las citas más poderosas y representativas de la historia norteamericana, palabras que fueron suspiradas por Jacqueline Kennedy días después de la muerte de su esposo: “No olvidemos/Que una vez existió un lugar/Que durante un breve pero brillante momento fue conocido como Camelot” (Rubin, 2006: 17). En el presente artículo se expondrá de forma sumaria el libro de Rubin: iniciaremos por un análisis sistematizado de los temas tratados en Beyond Camelot y se abordará una descripción de la metodología que el autor utiliza para presentar sus ideas, ya que consideramos que es la forma la que permite que uno llegue a compartir las ideas que presenta Edward Rubin. Con esto en mente, analizaremos cuatro temas que se tratan en el libro; es asombroso ver la gran relevancia que tienen estos con el Derecho Administrativo colombiano.

Rubin delivers an analysis of the ideas and principles of the Modern State by comparing them to their origins traced to the “escapist fantasy” that once was Camelot. He brings this comparison to relevance by posing the question: Do these ideas and principles still exist in the American government or has the Arthurian round table disappeared? To begin unveiling this question, which will be the main focus of his book, he uses one of the most emblematical quotes of American political history: “Don’t let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot.” In the following article, we will present a brief summary of professor Edward Rubin’s book: first by giving a general overview of the subjects addressed in Beyond Camelot, and by explaining the way the author presents his ideas; or in other words, the author’s unique methodology, which enables the reader to build his own point of view on the subjects at hand.
