Esta investigación acción cualitativa analizó las habilidades de pensamiento crítico de los estudiantes de grado noveno en el colegio público Jaime Garzón en relación con el desarrollo e implementación de mediaciones situadas de ILE otras. Esta investigación se realizó con estudiantes de grado noveno del colegio Jaime Hernando Garzón Forero, institución pública administrada por una entidad privada. Los instrumentos utilizados para recolectar la información fueron las mediaciones de los estudiantes, las notas de campo de los docentes y el protocolo de pensamiento en voz alta. Los hallazgos revelaron que las mediaciones generadas por la maestra se convirtieron en poderosas mediaciones otras para transformar las prácticas de enseñanza y aprendizaje, mejorando las habilidades de pensamiento de bajo nivel (LOTS) de los estudiantes y promoviendo el uso de habilidades de pensamiento de alto nivel (HOTS). En particular, la consideración de las experiencias vitales de los alumnos, los proyectos vitales, la iconografía local, la creación colaborativa de mediaciones y la realización de actividades orientadas a la crítica repercutieron en las habilidades de pensamiento crítico de los alumnos, obligándoles a recordar, interpretar, analizar y asumir una postura crítica de su realidad para transformarla. |

This study was conducted with ninth-graders at Jaime Hernando Garzón Forero, a public institution administrated by a private organization. The instruments used to gather the information were students' mediations, teacher field notes, and a think aloud protocol. The findings revealed that the situated-teacher generated mediations otherwise became powerful means to transform the teaching and learning practices enhancing student’s low-order- thinking skills (LOTS) and promoting the use of High- order thinking skills (HOTS).
