Por tanto, el discurso tercermundista ha servido como instrumento de política internacional, mientras que en el plano interno el régimen sigue siendo conservador.This article aims to reflect on the association between Iran led by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuela led by Hugo Chavez under the logic of the third-world discourse. The main argument is that the developing world vindication discourse allowed the Iranian regime to approach countries that share its criticism of the international system and of United States power. However, these approaches did not achieve an enhancement of their internal social cohesion that could justify such association.
