Summary:Carlos Lleras Restrepo government stands out in the Colombia’s history to have introduced an institutional reformation of wide proportions that it strengthened the bases of the State interventionist. This fact, added to a structuralism conception on the monetary and exchange handling, allowed an evident take off in the non-traditional exporter sector, and a growth of the GDP without antecedents in the national economy, particularly the industrial GDP. Other macroeconomic issues, as the low inflation and the employment, also showed favorable results that extended the following years. In general, the measures achieved an economic stability that allowed a growth sustained in the following years in moments in those which the “age of gold” of the capitalism it arrived to their abrupt final.
