Description
Summary:In the last 15 years, foreign direct investment FDI in Colombia has been in the surge. It is the result of policies aimed to reduce risk enhacen benefits for the investors. This article revises the legal reforms enacted by the last Colombian Administrations in order to analyse the possible positive results brought to the Colombian population as a whole. Findings suggest that the relation between FDI and national economic growth is negligible; same results are shown for the unemployment rate. It appears that the likely benefits of FDI do not reach either Colombia or its habitants.
