| Summary: | Over the time the use of antibiotics has been increased empirically. Therefore, new secondary outcomes have been evidenced. The objective of this article is to expand the knowledge about the ceftriaxone, mainly of the side effects that could appear in the process. A literary review was made in the database “PubMed”, using keywords such as “ceftriaxone”, “drug-Related Side Effects and Adverse Reactions”. Through this article was found, that ceftriaxone can cause some serious side effects, but it wasn´t conclusive, that this drug was the principal factor. Furthermore, the numbers of cases are extremely low. In conclusion, the ceftriaxone is a safe anti-bacterial agent, because the presentation of side effects is very rare. Also, it must fulfill some specific conditions such as prolonged use or high doses to generate an adverse effect. |
