A pesar de estos hechos, está muy estigmatizado debido a su asociación con el vandalismo. También tiene algunas barreras de accesibilidad: muchas personas no están dispuestas a pintar sobre las superficies de su casa, y pintar sobre las paredes de otras propiedades es, por supuesto, ilegal. Además, algunas personas no toleran los aerosoles y sus partículas. Sin embargo, es posible reducir o incluso eliminar por completo este estigma utilizando la tecnología moderna. Qué pasaría si todos pudieran pintar grafitis de forma segura en un entorno virtual? Para reducir las barreras entre los aspirantes y sus grafitis, sería posible incorporar la realidad virtual? Esa es la propuesta de este proyecto: crear un entorno virtual -con el apoyo de la realidad virtual- para que los usuarios puedan pintar grafitis sin las preocupaciones habituales y reducir el estigma asociado a esta forma de arte. A este fin, se creó un prototipo de este entorno. Se probó con controles tradicionales de teclado y ratón en un PC, y también con el Oculus Quest 2. Se hicieron más pruebas con voluntarios, que presentaron sus conclusiones en una encuesta donde calificaron distintos aspectos del prototipo. En general, las calificaciones fueron altas, y se tuvo en cuenta una sugerencia de un voluntario para trabajo futuro.

Examples of it can be found in Ancient Greece and beyond, making it an old and prevalent art form as well. Despite these facts, it is highly stigmatized due to its association with vandalism. It also has some barriers to accessibility: not everyone is willing to paint over surfaces in their homes, and painting over the walls of other properties is, of course, illegal. On top of that, not every person can deal with the sprays and particles of graffiti cans. However, it may be possible to reduce or even eliminate this stigma completely by using modern technology. What if people could safely paint graffitis in a virtual environment? And, in order to reduce the barriers between would-be painters and their graffitis, would it be possible to incorporate virtual reality? That’s the proposal of this project: creating a virtual environment -with VR support- in order to allow users to paint graffitis without the usual concerns while, hopefully, reducing the stigma attached to this art form. To this end, a prototype of this environment was created. It was tested with traditional keyboard and mouse controls on a PC, and also tested using the Oculus Quest 2. Further tests were done with volunteers, who submitted their findings in a poll grading different aspects of the prototype.
