Description
Summary:Objective: The objective of this study is to describe the impact of researchers belonging to a University Institution in the city of Cali, Colombia, on academic databases and an academic social network. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out through bibliometric analysis with different academic databases, where a search and selection of information was carried out from November 6, 2020, which subsequently led to the extraction of 3 databases until January 17, 2021. Results: Regarding the information found in Google Scholar, it is evidenced that 46 researchers are registered and an average of published documents of 12.04 (16.54) is observed, the average of citations received is 23.65 (43.65). With regard to the information found in the academic social network ResearchGate, 77 researchers are registered, with an average of 3.9 (6.2) published documents, in turn, 5.4 (17.5) total citations are registered. On the other hand, in the Scopus database, it is evidenced that 27 researchers are registered in which an average of 3.4 (3.7) published documents is observed, in turn, these register 6.3 total citations. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis shows that, in a university institution in Cali, Colombia, the largest number of researchers and publications correspond to the Faculty of Health and Rehabilitation. On average, researchers present 3 or more publications made in the last 10 years.
