The UNIDROIT principles contain concepts and laws which are common to the different legal systems in force throughout the world, and are taken to be law in arbitrators’ decisions relating to contracts, or as a means of interpreting or complementing international legal instruments, among which is the United Nations Convention On Contracts For The International Sale Of Goods, approved by Congress under law #518 of 1999. Covered here are a number of general aspects of these principles in an analysis which is based on concepts arising from arbitrators’ decisions and international arbitrators’ sentences, and the consultation of specialized works on the subject.
