Considerando los criterios de elegibilidad: fuentes bibliográficas que incluyeran las palabras clave, documentos cuantitativos, en español o inglés, publicados entre los años 2000 y 2022. Se realizó una búsqueda, en las bases de datos Web of Science, Scopus, PsycArticles, Dialnet y Scholar Google. Se seleccionaron 391 estudios de los cuales 16 cumplían con estos criterios. Los resultados sugieren una prevalencia de intervenciones tempranas centradas en mejorar el comportamiento del niño y no en estimular componentes específicos de la cognición. Esto supone un vacío en la literatura científica para reducir las dificultades que los niños prematuros mostrarán a medida que se desarrollan y que dificultarán su desempeño escolar y socioemocional. Ninguno de los estudios muestra una estrecha relación entre los supuestos teóricos sobre desarrollo cognitivo, los mecanismos fisiopatológicos que desencadenan las dificultades cognitivas y las actividades ofrecidas en los programas de intervención. |

Delays in viso constructional skills, attention, memory, language, executive functions, socio-emotional regulation, as well as learning in general, are identified. Following the PRISMA protocol for scoping reviews, the present study aimed to characterize interventions that report a positive impact on cognition in preterm infants in their first five years of life. Considering the eligibility criteria: bibliographic sources that included the keywords, quantitative documents, in Spanish or English, published between the years 2000 and 2022. A search was carried out in the Web of Science, Scopus, PsycArticles, Dialnet and Scholar Google. 391 studies were selected, of which 16 met these criteria. The results suggest a prevalence of early interventions focused on improving the child's behavior and not on stimulating specific components of cognition. This represents a gap in the scientific literature to reduce the difficulties that premature children will show as they develop and that will hinder their school and socio-emotional performance.
