The present book constitutes one of the academic products of the research registered in the research center of the University of La Guajira called “The Wayúu Culture in the Indigenous Tourism of La Guajira Colombia”, research developed with funding from the University of La Guajira between the years 2018-2019. The focus of the text is on Social Sciences and the use of technological tools such as ATLAS.ti in data management for qualitative research, as a methodological aspect for the treatment of data in the aforementioned research. In this sense, tourism being a socially constructed cultural phenomenon and given its affinities with the Social Sciences as a disciplinary foundation, we proceeded to a scientific approach from the qualitative paradigm due to its reflexive and naturalistic capacity. Therefore, the data originated in the intervention of 23 units of analysis approached were analyzed and managed through the ATLAS.ti application, as a technological tool for the analysis of large volumes of data and conducive to the generation of emerging categories. The text, beyond proposing a support guide for students and teachers, proposes an approach to the use of this tool in the social sciences, from a naturalistic and reflexive point of view, to facilitate the interaction of the researcher with the dense information originated by the different research techniques of qualitative research. Finally, with the support of bibliometric analyzers, the growth of qualitative research as a scientific paradigm and the use of applications such as ATLAS.ti for data management are made evident, projecting itself as a tool for scientific support in the Social Sciences.Introducción Sección I.
