The work carried out is descriptive, with the purpose of showing the relevance of the English language in the professional and work environment, for which intellect and argument activities were carried out, with the idea of having real and determined events as a starting point. On the other hand, with the present work it was possible to carry out a survey where important points were analyzed and resolved for the timely fulfillment of the established objectives. With the result of the surveys, it is possible to affirm that, for the students of the UCEVA Business Administration program, English competences are an essential part of their training process as professionals, because these will allow them to carry out an excellent work in their performance as professionals. In the same way, the students of the Business Administration program express opportune that in their process of training in competences in English they are able to speak clearly and without any limitation at the moment of wanting to transmit what they want, improving the methodology and expanding the tools which allow them to have a broad word that gives them access to express themselves in various social environments.El presente trabajo tiene como fin describir lo que representa para los estudiantes del programa de Administración de Empresas de La UCEVA, los actos relacionados con las competencias en inglés. El trabajo realizado es de tipo descriptivo teniendo como finalidad mostrar la relevancia del idioma inglés en el ámbito profesional y laboral, para lo cual se llevaron a cabo actividades de intelecto y argumento, con la idea de tener como punto de partida acontecimientos reales y determinados. Por otro lado, con el presente trabajo fue posible realizar una encuesta donde se analizaron y resolvieron puntos importantes para el cumplimiento oportuno de los objetivos establecidos. Con el resultado de las encuestas es posible afirmar que, para los estudiantes del programa de Administración de Empresas de La UCEVA, las competencias en ingles hacen parte fundamental en su proceso de formación como profesionales, debido a que estas les permitirán poder llevar a cabo una excelente labor en su desempeño como profesionales.
