El consumo de alcohol en la adolescencia se ha venido convirtiendo en una problemática de salud que en la actualidad afecta a un alto porcentaje de esta población; se estima que el 9% de los jóvenes en el mundo mueren por causas debidas al alcohol. Se han identificado diversos factores de riesgo asociados a la iniciación en el consumo de alcohol a los que este grupo etario puede verse expuesto debido a la necesidad de ser aceptados por otros, así como la influencia del entorno familiar y social. También se conocen diversos factores de protección que pueden mitigar los efectos de los factores de riesgo y en los cuales el entorno social y las áreas de la salud juegan un papel importante. Se concluye que los jóvenes se encuentran en una situación preocupante respecto al consumo de alcohol y a las enfermedades y consecuencias para la salud que esto conlleva, haciendo que sea de vital importancia la actuación del área de la salud en dicho escenario, tratando la problemática como una adicción y actuando en consecuencia.MedicoPregradoThe objective of this monography was to characterize the social factos in the early consumption of alcohol in youths and young adults between 14 and 25 years old. The alcohol consumption in teenegeers has been turning into a health problem that currently affects a high percentage of this group, it is estimated that the 9% of youths in the world die due to causes related to alcohol. It has been indentified a series of risk factors associated in the introduction to alcohol consumption to which this age group can be affected due to the need of being accepted by others, as well as the influence of family and social environment. There are also known some protection factors which can help to reduce the effects of risk factors where the social environment and healthcare have an important role.
