The objective of the project is to describe citizen competencies in the public accounting program of the Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca - UCEVA. It is based on theoretical foundations framed in skills training. One of the highlights in the development is the use of descriptive research, which, through its conduction and observation techniques, helps to acquire a perspective of knowledge in citizen competence that students of the accounting program have. Finally, thanks to bibliographic sources, the impact of this type of research on the articulation of the academic plan of the institution can be demonstrated, thus promoting the development of new strategies that can generate great advances in our university in the subject under study.Este documento es el informe final de trabajo de grado, requisito para obtener el título de Contador público. El objetivo del proyecto es describir las competencias ciudadanas en el programa de contaduría pública de la unidad central del valle del cauca – UCEVA. Se basa en fundamentos teóricos enmarcados en la formación por competencias. Uno de los aspectos destacados dentro del desarrollo, es el uso de la investigación descriptiva, que, a través de sus técnicas de deducción y observación ayuda a adquirir una perspectiva del conocimiento en competencia ciudadanas que tienen los estudiantes del programa de contaduría.
