La preservación del equilibrio ecológico se convierte en una misión que involucra a todos. Las empresas son actores fundamentales para la consecución de esta meta, de esta manera ha cobrado importancia la generación de acciones y herramientas de gestión innovadoras que concilian el desarrollo económico con la protección y conservación del medio ambiente, contribuyendo al desarrollo sostenible, entendido éste como un modelo que busca suplir las necesidades del presente sin afectar las necesidades del futuro.
