The diagnosis was quantitative type with descriptive cross-sectional approach, depending on the objective, It was necessary to carry out modified Lickert type surveys. In the results obtained it was found that with respect to age and gender the results are congruent with what has been reported in the literature. In the subject of self Care knowledge, it was evidenced that they have the bases and knowledge of which foods affect blood pressure and which should be consumed and / or avoided for the improvement of the same, the importance of having good habits, But he does not know the elements for the control of it. In the category of self-care feeding practices, most of the participants are reflexive when it comes to appreciating certain behaviors since the modification of feeding plays a fundamental role in the management of hypertension. In the attitudes of self-care in food, the women surveyed showed a positive attitude to decrease salt consumption and in the Habits category, most women always have a positive attitude to practice adequate habits to care for their illness.El presente proyecto contiene la descripción y análisis acerca de conocimientos, prácticas y actitudes de autocuidado en Mujeres hipertensas del municipio de San Pedro Valle Del Cauca. El diagnóstico fue tipo cuantitativo con enfoque descriptivo de corte transversal, en función al objetivo planteado, fue necesario realizar encuestas tipo Lickert modificada. En los resultados obtenidos se encontró que con respecto a la edad (31-a 59 años) y el género femenino los resultados son congruentes con lo reportado en la literatura. En el tema de conocimiento de autocuidado, se evidenció que tienen las bases y el conocimiento de cuáles son los alimentos que afectan la presión arterial y cuales se deben consumir y/o evitar para la mejoría de la misma, la importancia de tener buenos hábitos, pero el desconocen los elementos para el control de la misma. En la categoría de prácticas autocuidado de alimentación el 97% de los participantes son reflexivos a la hora de apreciar ciertas conductas ya que la modificación de la alimentación juega un papel fundamental en el manejo de la HTA. En las actitudes del autocuidado en la alimentación las mujeres encuestadas mostraron tener una actitud positiva para disminuir el consumo de sal y en la categoría Hábitos la mayoría de las mujeres siempre tiene una actitud positiva para practicar hábitos adecuados para el cuidado de su enfermedad.1.
