En la actualidad la literatura colombiana no cuenta con un adecuado registro y seguimiento del TDAH, por esta razón la intensión de este proyecto es poder analizar estadísticamente la prevalencia, evaluación y el diagnóstico de la patología, así mismo se busca verificar que los modelos de diagnóstico son funcionales y exactos en el momento del diagnóstico. Es un trastorno que inicia en la infancia y es uno de los más comunes a nivel psiquiátrico en niños. Se trata de un desorden que incluye, entre otros síntomas, excesiva actividad motora, impulsividad, dificultad en el control de impulsos e inatención. Constituye un “trastorno universal de inhibición, atención y autocontrol que se observa en todos los países y culturas” (Barkley, 2005), los tratamientos que han mostrado cierta efectividad son: medicamentos, entrenamiento de los padres y de los profesores con métodos de manejo de la conducta del niño y combinaciones de estos tratamientos (programas de terapia multimodal); cada una se aplicara dependiendo de paciente. El tratamiento multimodal es el preferido para tratar la mayoría de los casos de TDAH, debido a lo complejo que es, especialmente cuando coexisten otros trastornos como los problemas de aprendizaje, de conducta, de ansiedad o depresión (Smith, Barkley Shapiro 2006).MedicoPregradoAttention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a pathology whose prevalence is on the rise. It is one of the most critical disorders because it impacts the proper development of children and teenagers worldwide. Nowadays, the Colombian literature does not count on a good registry and monitoring of ADHD. This paper aims to statistically analyze the prevalence, evaluation, and diagnosis of this topic. It also looks to determine if the diagnostic models are functional and accurate at the time of diagnosis. This disorder starts during the person's childhood and is one of the most common diseases at the psychiatric level in children. It is a disorder that includes, among other symptoms, excessive motor activity, impulsiveness, and difficulty controlling impulses and focus. It is a "universal disorder of inhibition, attention, and self-control that can be found in all countries and cultures" (Barkley, 2005) Treatments that have shown some effectiveness are: medications, training of parents and teachers with management methods of the child's behavior and combinations of these treatments (multimodal therapy programs); each one applied depending on the patient.
