One of the most important mission-driven objectives of a university is research, which is justified by three key reasons: a) to deepen knowledge until it becomes accessible to the public, b) to push the boundaries of knowledge in order to understand the current state of research in a particular field, and c) to advance those boundaries, making significant contributions to knowledge for the benefit of society. Research is one of the foundations on which a society evolves. It refines and challenges accumulated knowledge to seek what is best for humanity, considering that human beings are at the center of society. As long as their well-being and sustainability are ensured, society, in theory, can achieve a harmonious and peaceful coexistence. |

Research is one of the foundations on which a society evolves. It refines and challenges accumulated knowledge to seek what is best for humanity, considering that human beings are at the center of society. As long as their well-being and sustainability are ensured, society, in theory, can achieve a harmonious and peaceful coexistence.CHAPTER 1.--The link between the contribution of basic sciences and the learning of computer programming.--Introduction.--Methodology.--Configuration, Materials and Loads--Analytical Equations for Cylinder-Plane Contact.--Damage Parameter.--Description of the Finite Element Model.--Results and Discussion.--Validation of the Model.--Effect of the Uncertainty of the Coefficient of Friction.--Conclusions.--Acknowledgements.--References.--CHAPTER 2 Effect of the Uncertainty of the Friction Coefficient on Fretting Fatigue Initiation Life.--Introduction.--Materials and Methods.--Results and Discussion.--Conclusions.--References.--CHAPTER 3 Tool for assessing the vehicle energy consumption, emissions and health cost of electric mobility program in road transport in Colombian cities.--Introduction.--Materials and Methods.--Gompertz’s Model.--Vehicle Kilometers Traveled.--Energy Consumption TTW.--Vehicle Fleet Emissions.--Results and Discussion.--Fleet Characterization Module.--Energy Consumption Module.--Emissions Module .--Conclusions.--References.84 páginasapplication/pdfengUniversidad Tecnológica de PereiraPereiraSocial Appropriation of Knowledge: Research Results from the Faculties of Engineering and Applied MechanicsLibroinfo:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersionhttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2f33Textinfo:eu-repo/semantics/bookAndrade, A.
