Recurso ElectrónicoEn este trabajo de grado se propone una noci´on de funci´on theta y se demuestran sus principales propiedades. Luego, se establece una relaci´on entre dicha funci´on y las soluciones a la ecuaci´on del calor en la circunferencia. Por ´ultimo, se presentan algunas aplicaciones de la funci´on theta a la resoluci´on de los problemas de representar un entero positivo como suma de dos y cuatro cuadrados.In this undergraduate thesis we give a notion of theta function and prove its more important properties. Then, we interpret such a notion as a solution of the heat equation in a circle.
