description La globalización de la economía y la circulación y distribución de los recursos con los que cuentan las empresas, son realidades que propician una revolución científica tecnológica y organizacional, que favorecen en la competitividad de diferentes sectores económicos, específicamente en el sector logístico, el cual en los últimos años ha tomado gran importancia dad si estrecha relación relación con los procesos de distribución y de apertura de nuevo mercados a nivel internacional. En consecuencia, un grupo de docentes de la Universidad Simón Bolívar, presentaron los resultados del proyecto de investigación "Diseño preliminar de un modelo de centro de almacenamiento de clase mundial bajo las condiciones de a región Caribe Colombiana en respuesta al desarrollo fluvial/marítimo y su interacción con los otros medios de transporte (LOGPORT)", los cuales se ajustan y corresponden con las necesidades y requerimientos del sector logístico en materia de infraestructura tecnológica y la incorporación de los mismos en los procesos organizacionales. Por consiguiente, el presente texto se basa en la especificación de un documento técnico para la construcción de una plataforma TIC para servicios logísticos, el cual requiere la ejecución de una serie de etapas orientadas a la identificación der los elementos que intervienen en la operación de la infraestructura logística de puertos, de los elementos que permitan contar con una información completa de todos los agentes que intervienen en el proceso, la identificación de los módulos requeridos en el sistema, y la definición de los requerimientos para el desarrollo del mismo
