Una de las actividades económicas que más impactos diversos genera es la minería, al producir importantes recursos económicos que luego se incorporan a los presupuestos de los estados, pero cuando esta actividad se realiza de manera ilegal las consecuencias económicas, sociales y ambientales son incalculables. En Colombia la explotación de la minería ilegal se ha convertido en uno de los principales problemas de los últimos años para las autoridades, porque se entremezcla con algunas explotaciones de carácter legal o su actividad se realiza en sitios tan diversos y distantes de la amplia geografía del territorio nacional, lo que hace aún más difícil su seguimiento y control, lo cual es aprovechado por grupos al margen de la ley para desarrollar sus actividades ilícitas, quienes valiéndose de la fuerza e intimidación obligan a las comunidades que habitan este territorio, que en su mayoría son afrodescendientes, a desplazarse y/o entregar sus territorios o a someterse a trabajos sin las más mínimas garantías ni salariales ni de seguridad social e industrial. Este documento pretende plasmar las diferentes consecuencias que genera la explotación ilegal del oro en el Departamento del Chocó, región que concentra uno de los territorios más prolíferos de este metal precioso en Colombia y donde se encuentra un territorio extremadamente rico en recursos hídricos, de fauna, flora y bosques selváticos, resaltando principalmente el impacto generado en el medio ambiente, por esta práctica ilegal. |

In Colombia the exploitation of illegal mining has become one of the main problems of the last few years for the authorities, because it is interspersed with some legal holdings or its activity is carried out in places so different and distant from the wide geography of the country, which makes it even more difficult its monitoring and controlwhich is used by groups on the fringes of the law to carry out their illicit activities, who, using force and intimidation to the communities that live in this territory, who are mostly people of African descent, to move or deliver their territories or to undergo work without minimum guarantees neither wage nor social security and industrial.
