Description
Summary:The capitalist system crosses a period of global crisis. Its logic of production, based in transforming things into merchandise in order to generate value and to accumulate constantly capital, has implied in the last five centuries, major pressures on the environmental development. Today we know, unquestionably, that the natural balance is being disturbed more and more in huge steps. Nowadays, it is a fact that we, as human beings, are confronting one of the worse threats ever. In order to identify a promising course that would end this dilemma, the present research analyzes in a global form, the capacity of the governments, multinationals, NGO´s, private initiatives and consumers to revert the problem in a definitely way. By analyzing the nature and the reach of each actor, it will be possible to evaluate if the present economic system is in capacity to solve the environmental problem from its interior, or if on the contrary, another system will be required to end the present dilemma.
