Trayectoria de los investigadoresINTRODUCTION: Coronary ecstasy disease is defined as the angiographic finding of a dilation of the arteries 1.5 or more times greater than the mean diameter of the proximal and distal portions of the ectasia area, it has a prevalence of I.4% and an association Of 82% with significant atherosclerotic coronary stenosis, iatrogenic acquired etiology is less frequent and presents in 0.3% as a complication of cardiac catheterization. The associated phenomenon of slow coronary flows is also described in the literature as an angiographic phenomenon characterized by a delay in the emptying of the contrast in the epicardial vessels in the absence of significant obstructive coronary disease. OBJECTIVE: Find the frequency of coronary ecstasy disease and slow flow disease, identify characteristics of the population with this pathology at the Central Military Hospital MATERIALS AND METHODS: Cross-sectional study through analysis of medical records in the registry of arteriographies of the hemodynamics service of the Central Military Hospital, during the years 2012 to 2020, seeking to find the frequency of coronary ecstasy disease and slow flow disease, as well as a clinical and paraclinical characterization of these patients. RESULTS: A total of 7,939 catheterizations were evaluated in the period 2012 to 2020, finding 184 subjects with coronary ectasia and slow-flow disease, which represents a prevalence of 2.4%, more frequently in men 70% and women 29%, age average presentation was 68.4 years, cardiovascular disease and its risk factors are closely related, highlighting among the main comorbidities the presence of systemic arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, dyslipidemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus, other modifiable cardiovascular risk factors , such as smoking, which was closely related to endothelial damage, was found in 14.6% of the subjects, when performing the bivariate analysis, no statistically significant differences were found between the probable risk factors, coronary heart disease and slow-flow disease.Especializaciónapplicaction/pdfspahttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 InternationalAcceso abiertoPrevalencia, caracterización clínica y paraclínica de pacientes con diagnóstico de ectasia coronaria y enfermedad de flujos lentos en el Hospital Militar Central de 2012 al 2020Prevalence, clinical and paraclinical characterization of patients diagnosed with coronary ectasia and slow flow disease at the Central Military Hospital from 2012 to 2020Tesis/Trabajo de grado - Monografía - Especializacióninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesishttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fCoronary ectasialeft coronary arteriographyslow flow diseaseCARDIOLOGIAENFERMEDAD CORONARIAVALVULA AORTICAEctasia coronariaarteriografía coronaria izquierdaenfermedad de flujos lentosMedicina InternaFacultad de MedicinaUniversidad Militar Nueva GranadaSorfell V, Bov A, Dav M.
