description En el sector minero (metales), la deforestación se ha presentado principalmente por el inadecuado manejo de los recursos naturales por parte de la minería informal y los diversos accidentes que ocurren en el sector como los derramamientos de carbon; en la minería informal no cuentan con equipos suficientes para hacer la extracción de los distintos recursos no renovables afectando el medio ambiente sin pensar en las consecuencias que esto puede acarrear; también hay que tener en cuenta los químicos que son utilizados por ellos para ahorrar costos, un claro ejemplo es el mercurio, metal pesado que es utilizado esencialmente para concentrar el oro, el cual se adhiere hasta formar una amalgama pesada que luego es fácilmente separada de otros minerales; procedimiento que se realiza sin tener en cuenta las consecuencias debido que el mercurio es altamente toxico y de fácil evaporación.
