Los pólipos endometriales en la actualidad constituyen una de las etiologías a evaluar dentro del estudio de hemorragia uterina anormal, incluida en la clasificación de la FIGO denominada con el acrónimo PALM COEIN y ha cobrado mayor incidencia debido a la disponibilidad de técnicas diagnósticas imagenológicas y operatorias tales como la ecografía pélvica transvaginal, histerosonografía e histeroscopia diagnóstica y operatoria. Es por esto que se considero importante teniendo en cuenta la disponibilidad de dichas herramientas diagnósticas en el Hospital Militar Central la evaluación del rendimiento de la histerosonografía en cuanto al hallazgo de pólipo endometrial y la comparación del diagnóstico ecográfico con el obtenido mediante visualización directa de cavidad uterina mediante histeroscopia en 114 pacientes que cumplieran con cuadro clínico sospechoso y se sometieran a ambos procedimientos en el lapso del enero de 2015 a diciembre de 2020. Se analizaron las historias clínicas de todas las pacientes con diagnóstico ecográfico de pólipo endometrial y llevadas a histeroscopia posteriormente y se realizó un estudio de pruebas diagnósticas donde además se evaluaron variables como factores de riesgo, comorbilidades asociadas, edad de presentación y establecimiento o no de menopausia al momento del diagnóstico; evidenciando un porcentaje de correlación de hallazgo de pólipo entre los 2 procedimientos del 67% y al evaluar solo mediante histeroscopia en un 89%. El principal diagnóstico diferencial encontrado durante la histeroscopia fue mioma uterino y hasta en un 15% no se encontró evidencia de alguna patología endometrial. |

El principal diagnóstico diferencial encontrado durante la histeroscopia fue mioma uterino y hasta en un 15% no se encontró evidencia de alguna patología endometrial.Endometrial polyps currently constitute one of the etiologies to be evaluated within the study of abnormal uterine bleeding, included in the FIGO classification called with the acronym PALM COEIN and has gained a higher incidence due to the availability of imaging and operative diagnostic techniques such as such as transvaginal pelvic ultrasound, hysterosonography and diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy. This is why it is considered important, taking into account the availability of these diagnostic tools at the Central Military Hospital, to evaluate the performance of hysterosonography in terms of finding endometrial polyp and to compare the ultrasound diagnosis with that obtained by direct visualization of the uterine cavity by hysteroscopy in 114 patients who had a suspicious clinical presentation and underwent both procedures in the period from January 2015 to December 2020. The medical records of all patients with an ultrasound diagnosis of endometrial polyp and subsequently taken to hysteroscopy were analyzed and a study of diagnostic tests was carried out where variables such as risk factors, associated comorbidities, age of presentation and establishment or not of menopause were also evaluated at the time of diagnosis; showing a percentage of correlation of polyp finding between the 2 procedures of 67% and when evaluating only by hysteroscopy it was 89%.
