On the other hand, this sector is slow to innovate, compared to other industrial activities, so it requires the development of transformation techniques and processes that allow it to evolve. In this sense, 3D printing technology, applied to the field of construction, offers great opportunities for improvement and innovation of traditional processes. This document presents a review of some of the techniques, methods and materials that have been used in the civil construction sector, through 3D printing, including their advantages, disadvantages and challenges and mentioning some examples of executed works, for which a review of research articles was carried out, finding that there are 3D printing techniques whose use has been modified to improve performance, comfort and the use of materials. Additionally, the research shows that countries that have dared to build with 3D technology, have obtained optimal results, demonstrating that it is possible to do so and that its benefits are not only economic, but that environmentally it offers an opportunity to improve energy and material consumption.
