Summary: | In this work a vertical axis wind rotor of three blade NACA 0018 is going to be analyzed. First, the theoretical efficiency of the rotor is calculated by Paraschivoiu vertical axis wind rotor model. Second, the experimental efficiency is determined by the curve of velocity against time. The experimental data is gotten by three different measurement systems: a high speed camera, a electric motor and a encoder. The top speed is also measured and compare with the measure of a laser tachometer. Finally is observed the changes in the experimental rotor efficiency when turbulence is generated by three different types of mesh. |
