We analyze mitochondrial and nuclear DNA sequences from 41 individuals inferring the divergence times and vicariance scenarios and species distribution models to analyze the role of climatic variables in determining the presence geographic boundaries of the species. The phylogeny of Rheobates is largely predicted by geography, but we detected paraphyletic lineages on the eastern side of the Eastern Cordillera and we detected unanticipated latitudinal phylogeographic structure within the western flank of the Eastern Cordillera." -- Tomado del Formato de Documento de Grado."Se evaluó el papel de las montañas en el norte de los Andes y el Valle del Magdalena como barreras para la dispersión y promotores de vicariancia entre las poblaciones de Rheobates palmatus (Aromobatidae). Las poblaciones de esta rana están restringidos a los flancos oriental y occidental de la Cordillera Oriental y al flanco oriental de la Cordillera Central. Analizamos secuencias de ADN mitocondrial y nuclear de 41 individuos que permitieron inferir los tiempos de divergencia, escenarios de vicariancia y modelos de distribución para analizar el papel de las variables climáticas en su distribución geográfica.
