Description
Summary:In this thesis, we model the three-dimensional heat flow in a road structure located in Bogotá with variable environmental conditions. The purpose of this numerical modeling is to be able to understand this flow in order to later implement Peltier plates inside the road structure, which, in reverse conditions, allow converting the heat absorbed by pavements into electrical energy. Considering the amount of rays that come directly from the sun and the heat flow through the pavement, is possible to determine the heat that the plates will absorb. Furthermore, with some laboratory simulations, it is possible to determine the relation between absorbed heat and produced electricity. Nevertheless, we are going to focus on the heat flow through the pavement in three directions, not including here the Peltier plates.
