Los instrumentos de investigación para recolectar los datos fueron una entrevista semiestructurada, un cuestionario y formularios de observaciones. Las percepciones de los estudiantes se analizaron mediante el método de análisis temático. Los resultados revelaron que los estudiantes tenían una actitud positiva hacia el uso del drama creativo en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera. Con base en los hallazgos, se podría interpretar que el drama educativo podría ayudar a los estudiantes a superar su ansiedad al hablar en el idioma extranjeroThis investigation aimed at exploring students? perceptions about the use of creative drama to overcome their speaking anxiety in the EFL classroom. The research subject was students from UNICA University where they enrolled to become English teachers. The respondents were 18 students who took educational drama for one semester to develop their speaking skill. The research instruments to collect the data were a semi-structured interview, a questionnaire and observations forms. The students? perceptions were analyzed through the thematic analysis method. The results revealed that students had a positive attitude towards the use of creative drama in EFL classroom.
