The third alternative is the center of this work, in which a simulation optimization model is proposed. A network flow model is used to simulate people?s commutes in the center of the city. The model seeks to simulate people smart decisions with linear optmiztion, regarding the best option depending on people?s personal choices in the means of transport that is chosen. Moreover, two models are proposed, and the corresponding results demonstrate that encouraging the diversification significantly improves commute times.Este estudio analiza tres alternativas para la reducción de los tiempos de viaje en el centro de Bogotá: (1) planificación de usos del suelo, (2) calidad del sistema de transporte y (3) diversificación de los medios de transporte. La tercera alternativa es el centro de este trabajo, en el que se propone un modelo de simulación con herramientas de optimización. Se utiliza un modelo de flujo de redes para simular los desplazamientos de las personas en el centro de la ciudad. El modelo busca simular las decisiones inteligentes de las personas con una optimización lineal, considerando las mejores opciones, dadas las elecciones individuales de las personas respecto a los medios de transporte elegidos.
