Summary:In this work we present a description of isogeometric analysis and its application to linear elasticity and non linear elasticity in 3D using Galerkin-s method. In particular we study the pinched hemisphere example, a benchmark case from the thin shell theory. We present convergence studies and its cost for different refinement techniques. Finally we present future work options inspired in the method-s limitations and its cost.
