Description
Summary:This thesis presents a feasibility study for the implementation of generation systems through microgrids based on clean energies in order to electrify rural areas with unreliable grid connections. The village of El Pozo, located in the municipality of Hatonuevo, La Guajira, will be used as a study site since it has an intermittent rural electricity service. First, the needs of the study site will be identified and the energy potential and demand will be assessed. Using HOMER software, the technical and operative performance of four microgrid configurations will be evaluated. Likewise, an economic study of the configurations will be carried out, and the current net value of each proposal will be calculated in order to select the best option. Finally, a conclusion will be drawn based on the results obtained and future work will be discussed.
