The model is validated by comparison with an economic field experiment with Amazonian hunters and with previous empirical data on hunting.Los estudios empíricos de caza del bosque tropical han demostrado la existencia de marcadas gradientes espaciales del esfuerzo de caza, la recolección de presas de caza, y la abundancia de animales, ya que los cazadores realizan su mayor actividad cerca de las aldeas, caminos y ríos. Los mecanismos subyacentes a estos patrones han, sin embargo, poco estudiados. Este artículo presenta un modelo bioeconómico espacial basado en el concepto de fricción distancia, es decir, un aumento del costo marginal de la distancia.
