Summary: | This paper explores the links between access to formal credit, financial restrictions and the performance of manufacturing firms in Colombia in the period 2011-2018, taking as performance variables the size of the company and its annual sales. The data used comes from the Encuesta de desarrollo e innovación tecnológica (EDIT) for the period 2011-2016, which takes data from the technological development and innovation activities of Colombian industrial companies. Using a non-linear probability model, it is found that the presence of financial constraint has negative effects on the probability of innovation in new goods and services, which is characterized differently according to different types of innovation and industries. |
