Description
Summary:This degree monograph discusses the relationship between the Colombian internal armed conflict and justice practices among indigenous Cauca communities. In particular, it explores how some indigenous Cauca authorities belonging to the CRIC use harmonic ideology to resolve conflicts and impose social control among their communities as a way to resist the influence of illegal armed actors. To do this, they have come to the State to execute custodial sentences against community members linked to illegal armed groups, to avoid escalating the conflict between their community, conceptualized as disharmony and imbalance; Which comes into tension with traditional medicine practices used to reinstate the offender in the community.
