Summary: | Adoptions of children over the age of five have always suffered stigmatization in Colombian society, which generates a very low adoption rate. Mainly, the fears of the parents are directed to the fear of not being able to create an affective bond in these affective processes, although the amount of research on this subject is really low. In order to deepen the experience of parents in late adoption processes, an investigation was carried out to understand the particularity of the conditions of reconstituted families with this case. Interviews were conducted with different parents with at least one year after having consolidated their adoption process. The change in family dynamics was found to be a common theme as a relevant issue that is usually strongly impacted in these processes.
