Summary: | This undergraduate degree project is mainly aimed to improve the performance of an electric kart developed by students and teachers of Universidad de los Andes in the recent past. This project is part of the FSAE group of the University (Formula SAE). This groups' objective is to create opportunities for the design, simulation and construction of diverse types of vehicles driven by alternative energies. Based on physic and mathematic theory of the phenomena governing the dynamic response of the vehicle, this project aims to study the way in which the performance of the vehicle is affected by various factors and parameters. Once the adequate models are obtained, computational simulations will be created by using different tools, in order to evaluate the viability and utility of previously proposed solutions. With the simulations' results, it is expected to choose a specific solution, evaluate its implications, costs and necessary procedures for its implementation. Finally, the project will test the changes in performance caused by the implementation of the chosen solution, in order to analyze and compare them against the result of simulations and the proposed objectives. |
