Summary:Scientific work has been constantly permeated by certain values and principles that legitimize authoritarianism and the exclusivity of natural sciences over other areas of knowledge. This has a strong impact in various fields of society, being one of the most affected that of education, because, given this notion of science, environments are configured that perpetuate learnings lacking the real sense of discipline, science as adventure. That is why, even today, there is a tendency to promote memoristic, decontextualized and non-genuine scientific dynamics. Thus, this work, developed at the San Bartolomé La Merced school, aims to propose a pedagogical sequence that promotes scientific competence in the area of physics from the framework of teaching for understanding. For the sake of this goal, first, the documentary analysis of the class sessions of the first period of the physics subject was carried out to know the degree of relevance of the proposal. Second, the full planning of the didactic sequence was carried out and, finally, its internal coherence was researched in order to achieve the objective set out. Findings of this project were the planning potential between the teaching framework for the understanding and methodology of Backward Design, as well as the enrichment of pedagogical and curriculum practices due to the alignment between the notions of teaching by skills and for understanding.----Taken from the Degree Document Format.
