Ya que el agua es un elemento clave para generar vida, el proyecto se convierte en creador de un ecosistema. A partir del concepto de oasis como un espacio que genera vida y da refugio, el proyecto se convierte en una máquina que proporciona agua, sombra y alimento. Teniendo en cuenta que el agua es el elemento que hace a la población Wayuu más vulnerable el proyecto es la posibilidad del desarrollo de un sistema que les permita hacer uso de este elemento natural de forma responsable, proporcionando las condiciones básicas para que esta población indígena pueda seguir habitando este territorio. El proyecto se basa en un sistema de huertas que permiten generar alimentos y de esta forma proveer para la población Wayuu una forma de ser autosostenibles. Se plantean dos tipos de huertas, hidropónicas verticales y huertas para cultivos rastreros.
