| Summary: | The present work studies the effect of Colombia's armed conflict on water quality, at municipality level, for the period 2007-2009. In order to measure conflict, it's used the harassment towards civil population as a metric. Water quality is calculated with the Water Quality Risk Index (IRCA for its initials in Spanish), which takes into account physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics. Moreover, control variables are used which may affect this characteristics of the water resource. Furthermore, different estimation methodologies are used in order to correct possible endogeneity and also to determine the robustness of the results. The conclusions show that there's no effect of the armed conflict over water quality through harassment.--Tomado del Formato de Documento de Grado. |
