Monte Carlo study of the Higgs boson in the decay channels H -> W+W- -> 2 mu 2 nu and H -> Z0 Z0 -> 4 mu
In this thesis work we study the production and decay of the Standard Model Higgs Boson in the weak decay modes, which consequently branch to muonic final states (muons and muonic neutrinos). The physics scenario is the LHC (two protons colliding with a center-of-mass energy of 14 Te V). Only Physic...

Summary: | In this thesis work we study the production and decay of the Standard Model Higgs Boson in the weak decay modes, which consequently branch to muonic final states (muons and muonic neutrinos). The physics scenario is the LHC (two protons colliding with a center-of-mass energy of 14 Te V). Only Physics simulation is performed, with no detector simulation. We study discovery possibilities by effecting kinematic cuts on the data, and also by using a neural network to try to enhance the resulting Signal-to- Noise Ratio. |
