I focus on the impact of the District Care System implemented by Bogot´a’s local government in 2020 through the study of Manzanas del Cuidado (MCs), as they offer well-being and human capital formation services to unpaid caregivers. For the period between 2019 and 2021, I estimate the Intention to treat (ITT) effect on time allocation in paid and unpaid labor, as well as labor market outcomes for women and men using an Event Study approach. Results indicate that women do not change their patterns of unpaid and paid time use, and while men exhibit a reduction in time allocated to paid work, estimates do not remain robust across various specifications, and identification issues may arise, limiting a conclusive causal interpretation attributable to the program. Labor market participation do not change for both women and men. Mechanisms such as the rigidity of gender social norms, the frequency of service usage, and methodological constraints may help unravel the reasons behind the observed effects.El estudio del efecto de las políticas de cuidado integrales—como aquellas que atienden las necesidades tanto de cuidadora(e)s como de múltiples poblaciones receptoras de cuidado—sobre la distribución del tiempo por parte de mujeres y hombres, es un ejercicio empírico poco explorado en la literatura existente sobre Economía del Cuidado, especialmente en contextos diversos de desarrollo. Este estudio se centra en el impacto del Sistema Distrital de Cuidado implementado por la alcaldía de Bogotá en 2020 a través del análisis de las Manzanas del Cuidado (MCs), que ofrecen servicios de bienestar a cuidadora(e)s no remunerada(o)s. Para el período comprendido entre 2019 y 2021, se estima el efecto asociado a la Intención del tratamiento (ITT por sus siglas en inglés) sobre la asignación de tiempo a trabajo remunerado y no remunerado, y sobre los resultados laborales para mujeres y hombres empleando un enfoque de diferencias-en-diferencias con tratamiento escalonado. Los resultados indican que las mujeres no modifican sus patrones de uso del tiempo, y aunque los hombres presentan una reducción en el tiempo destinado al trabajo pago, las estimaciones no se mantienen robustas a diversas especificaciones y pueden surgir problemas de identificación; lo que limita una interpretación causal concluyente atribuible al programa.
