Description
Summary:Plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPR) is an ecological alternative in agriculture to increase productivity of crop fields and reduce use of agrochemicals. In this study, three strains of Bacillus previously reported as PGPR in biological models were tested in rice line Fedearroz 67 (Oryza sativa) to promote growth in early stages. Seeds of rice were inoculated with the strains Bacillus altitudinis EA-CB0309, Bacillus altitudinis EA-ED0603 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens EA-CB0847 inside a model of pot and soil. Then, every 10 days during a month, destructive samples were taken to measure height, fresh weight, number of leaves and tillers, and length of the root. Two of the strains were found to be efficient in the promotion of rice growth. The strain EA-CB0847 increased height, fresh weight, and number of leaves and tillers in comparison to the control group; while strain EA-CB0847 only showed an increase in fresh weight and number of leaves...
