Análisis estadístico de la razón entre el PM2.5 y el PM10 de los datos continuos de las estaciones de la red de monitoreo de calidad del aire en Bogotá

The PM10/PM2.5 ratio along with meteorological variables such as precipitation, wind speed and direction give information about particular matter proceses and procedence. In order to obtain this information, Bogotá's hourly set data from 2014 to 2016 was taken. The information was validated and...

Description
Summary:The PM10/PM2.5 ratio along with meteorological variables such as precipitation, wind speed and direction give information about particular matter proceses and procedence. In order to obtain this information, Bogotá's hourly set data from 2014 to 2016 was taken. The information was validated and the ratio was analyzed in the diurnal cycle. The average ratio of the three years was 0.44 in the city. In other words, the weight of fine particles is almost half of the weight of coarse particles. PM2.5 almost completely explains the PM10 due the little variability of wind speed and the decrease of resuspension processes in nightly hours. However, the correlation is low in afternoon hours due the precense of regional emission sources influenced by wind speed, wich its procedence and type of emission was determined by polar graphs. Finally, the precipitation scavenging influence in particulate matter was found with some inconsistencies in all the set of stations.
