El manejo del dolor oncológico constituye un desafío complejo debido a su naturaleza multidimensional y al impacto significativo que ejerce sobre la calidad de vida de quienes lo experimentan. En este trabajo monográfico, se realizó una revisión sistemática de los programas existentes para el manejo integral del dolor en pacientes oncológicos durante el periodo comprendido entre 2015 y 2023. A través de la búsqueda en tres bases de datos electrónicas (APAPsychNet, Cochrane Library y Scopus), se identificaron 24 estudios relevantes que exploraron diversas intervenciones no farmacológicas, como terapias de tercera generación, musicoterapia, terapia cognitivo-conductual, programas interdisciplinarios e intervenciones mixtas. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren que las terapias psicológicas son efectivas para el manejo del dolor oncológico, contribuyendo así a mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Se destaca especialmente la relevancia de las intervenciones que involucran la colaboración de distintos profesionales de la salud y que integran múltiples enfoques terapéuticos, evidenciando la importancia de una atención holística para el manejo de esta población. Sin embargo, se observaron limitaciones, como la falta de homogeneidad en los resultados y la dificultad para comparar intervenciones debido a la variabilidad en los enfoques. Además, la revisión permite evidenciar la ausencia de una verdadera integración interdisciplinaria en muchos programas, lo que perpetúa un enfoque fragmentado en el manejo del dolor. Se evidenció también una escasez de estudios realizados en Latinoamérica, lo que restringe la aplicabilidad de los hallazgos a contextos como el colombiano. Es importante destacar que la combinación entre los altos costos de las intervenciones, la estructuración del sistema de salud y la falta de formación integral de los profesionales de la salud generan un entorno desafiante para la implementación de estas intervenciones en Colombia. En conclusión, los resultados de esta revisión sistemática respaldan la eficacia de adoptar un enfoque integral y multidimensional en el manejo del dolor oncológico, más allá del tratamiento biomédico y farmacológico convencional. Al comprender mejor las dimensiones psicosociales del dolor en pacientes oncológicos, se espera promover la transición a una atención más holística y efectiva, al tiempo que se reducen los costos asociados al dolor oncológico en el sistema de salud. |

En este trabajo monográfico, se realizó una revisión sistemática de los programas existentes para el manejo integral del dolor en pacientes oncológicos durante el periodo comprendido entre 2015 y 2023. A través de la búsqueda en tres bases de datos electrónicas (APAPsychNet, Cochrane Library y Scopus), se identificaron 24 estudios relevantes que exploraron diversas intervenciones no farmacológicas, como terapias de tercera generación, musicoterapia, terapia cognitivo-conductual, programas interdisciplinarios e intervenciones mixtas. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren que las terapias psicológicas son efectivas para el manejo del dolor oncológico, contribuyendo así a mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Se destaca especialmente la relevancia de las intervenciones que involucran la colaboración de distintos profesionales de la salud y que integran múltiples enfoques terapéuticos, evidenciando la importancia de una atención holística para el manejo de esta población. Sin embargo, se observaron limitaciones, como la falta de homogeneidad en los resultados y la dificultad para comparar intervenciones debido a la variabilidad en los enfoques. Además, la revisión permite evidenciar la ausencia de una verdadera integración interdisciplinaria en muchos programas, lo que perpetúa un enfoque fragmentado en el manejo del dolor. Se evidenció también una escasez de estudios realizados en Latinoamérica, lo que restringe la aplicabilidad de los hallazgos a contextos como el colombiano. Es importante destacar que la combinación entre los altos costos de las intervenciones, la estructuración del sistema de salud y la falta de formación integral de los profesionales de la salud generan un entorno desafiante para la implementación de estas intervenciones en Colombia. En conclusión, los resultados de esta revisión sistemática respaldan la eficacia de adoptar un enfoque integral y multidimensional en el manejo del dolor oncológico, más allá del tratamiento biomédico y farmacológico convencional.
