Summary: | "The Bulk-edge correspondence is a physical phenomenon that is usually accepted on the area of experimental condensed matter as a fact, but nevertheless it have not being understood theoretically at all. In this way the purpose of the present work is to try to give a first approach to this problem using a mathematical tool called K-Theory. To achieve this goal the work was centered on the understanding of a one dimensional model, the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model of a topological insulator, and in the use of an index map, that relates the bulk Hamiltonian and the edge Hamil- tonian, that arise when considering the K-Theory exact sequence of the Toeplitz ex- tension."-- Tomado del Formato de Documento de Grado. |
