| Summary: | CoolSkin is an architectural envelope which is developed from a series of strategies based on the biomimicry methodology. Biomimicry is defined as the science that studies nature as a source of inspiration for innovative technologies to solve the human problems that nature has already solved. Starting from the high energy consumption problem, generated by the daily use of air conditioning in warm tropical contexts, this document collects, investigates and analyzes different thermoregulation strategies used by various living beings. Based on the this, CoolSkin develops the innovative design of an architectural envelope capable of reducing the inside temperature of a room in a more sustainable way. |
